Worth the Wait

Hey y'all! "YOU are worth the wait." God has continually put these five words on my heart over the past year and I am so thankful for that. I want to share His message with you, that you are worth the wait - every single one of you.

If you didn't know, I'm currently a junior in high school where dating is the primary concern for many people. They often date around just to say that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend and when I ask them if they see a future with this person, they often say "oh no, not really." I've had a problem with this for a while now because what is the point? What's the point of giving your heart to someone that may not treat you right or that you don't even see a long-term future with?

God doesn't want our relationships to be like this.

Being able to love another person is a blessing from God and therefore we should honor Him in every aspect of these relationships. He has saved for us the best of the best and we are worth the wait for that.

I've never been in a relationship before which some people find odd because they say "oh just date this guy he's nice." But here's the problem with that, none of those people have been the ones God has for me because they haven't been seeking God and honoring Him. I have a list of qualities I look for in a future spouse and I pray over that list every single day. I don't want to just date someone just to say "oh hey I have a boyfriend"- I want to date the person that God has specifically for me.

I recently watched Emma Jenkins video (I'll link it here ) about waiting and she said something that really stuck out to me:

"Do not date POTENTIAL, but date PROVEN CHARACTER"

We shouldn't date someone that doesn't have all of the qualities we are looking for that in hopes that if they hang around us enough they will acquire them. We should date the one that already has his proven character and is so grounded in himself and the Lord.

I know that waiting can be so hard and believe me I struggle with this also, but God has promised us the best of the best and His promises never fail. His timing is PERFECT!

[Ephesians 1:9-10 says this: "He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment"]

So today I pray for you, that you would seek God in everything you do. I pray that you will resist the daily temptations that the evil one will throw at you. I pray that you would know how special you are and that you are worth it! You are the sons and daughters of the King of Kings and He has promised you great things. I pray that you do not settle and that you wait patiently until the time has reached its fulfillment. I am thankful for each and every one of you reading this and I hope you know how loved you are.

Amen.

With love,
